Available. There are two types of police certificates, politiattest , in Norway. A vanlig politiattest , covers convictions and fines, going back 2, 5 or 10 years, depending on the seriousness of the crime. A uttømmende politiattest , covers all convictions as an adult but does not cover fines, for example, for possession of hash. Both are available to all persons. National Crime record applications (GP-5168 B) can be obtained from the local police station. Applications can be made in person at the police station in the applicant's place of residence; however, if the applicant is no longer living in Norway, an application may be made by mail. The application must include a photo, ID card with personal number, and a reason for the request. Addresses and phone numbers for Norwegian police stations can be found at www.politi.no . Select the appropriate county, fylke , from the list "Hvor vil du?" Alternatively applicants may send their information to the Police Directorate at Politidirektoratet, Postbox 8051 Dep. 0031 Oslo. The record is valid for the entire country. Processing time is about 14 days. |
